Painting from her own archive of memory, imagination and from her direct surroundings, Veronika’s work flows between fiction and reality. Using symbolic and narrative elements in her paintings, she creates her own storytelling through mythology, childhood memories in Santorini and travels, merging these elements into a personal and poetic synthesis.

An eternal seeker, Veronika seeks to find her truth through the known and through the unknown. Reaching out to change and adversity as a catalyst for creative growth, she uses art as a means of mapping and recording her experience of life, while resourcing into her past and her homeland as a form of grounding.

Themes of femininity, transformation, mythology and esoteric symbolism are central to her art, portrayed through luminous oil colors and pastels. The interplay between figure, landscape, and abstraction remains a core theme, conjuring specific memories and creating an imaginary realm. Playing with the relationship between the figure, landscape and abstraction are binding themes within her work. The synthesis at times conjures up the memory of a specific experience or of the landscape in which she lives in real time in combination with personal symbolisms, touching on a surrealism and symbolism style. The artist invites the viewer to a journey to find their own narrative of the work.
